Culinary Skills level 2 at Craven College

Course description

Passionate about cooking? Develop your food preparation and cookery skills, get an insight into the real working world of the professional chef and learn how to work effectively as a team. This Diploma course provides Level 2 skills development for the professional cookery and patisserie industry with special focus on the practical skills required to work in today’s modern industry.

Our five star catering facilities, including a state of the art Prep Kitchen and a Production Kitchen servicing The Brasserie restaurant, give you a professional and exciting learning environment in which to hone your professional catering skills.

With guidance from our tutors, who are highly skilled chefs and hospitality experts, you may take on kitchen supervisory responsibilities in the areas of food safety, menu development and dish quality control and learn how from of house works effectively alongside a professional kitchen. Focusing on professional cookery and the skills required to work in today’s modern hospitality industry, you will experience the real demands and pressures of the industry. External work experience will form part of the course.

You will be required to purchase a kit and uniform.
