Course description

If you are employed or looking for employment within the Hospitality industry in a role as a receptionist, kitchen assistant, catering assistant, or any other hospitality environment service, then the Hospitality and Catering Apprenticeship could be the ideal starting point for you to gain a qualification and bolster your academic credentials while you work, improving both your knowledge of the industry whilst improving your own job prospects.

Course content

A range of subject areas including:

- Employment Rights and Responsibilities
- Food Safety in Catering
- Working effectively as part of a hospitality team

Different routes are available within this qualifications which include:

- Front Office
- Food and beverage service
- Basic food preparation and cooking

Entry requirements

- Employed within the industry
- Reference from current employer
- Assessment of Maths and English

Assessment

Assessment is by practical observations, course work, assignments and external tests.

Future opportunities

On completion of the course learners will be qualified to work within a variety of hospitality environments which could include restaurants, hotels and casinos.

The Level 2 Apprentice is a rolling programme this means that you can join us any time of the year. This course is aimed at anyone working in or who are seeking to start a career in Hospitality Industry.

Good levels of English and Maths are important for your success in your course, your chosen vocation and life. Throughout your course you will continue to develop your English and Maths skills in your vocational classes.

If you haven't achieved an A*/9 - C/4 grade in English or Maths at GCSE, or a Level 2 Functional Skill, you will also be working towards a qualification in English or Maths at a level that will enable you to progress towards these grades.

If you have a Learning Difficulty or Disability please let us know when you apply. You will be offered support in your interview. If you need help completing your application we can help with this too.
