BTEC Extended Diploma in Fashion and Clothing Level 3 at Stockton Riverside College

Course description

Take a look around, everything you see has been designed by someone, from your smart phone to your shoes, even the pattern on your socks! Studying Art & Design will give you a new way of looking at things, the perfect way to get into the creative industries.

Course content

Our dedicated course will give fashion-focused students the chance to explore creative techniques in the fashion and clothing industries. You will get the chance to draw on new skills including design, surface pattern, pattern cutting, construction and textiles. There will be a range of practical tasks for all students to actively take part in as well as educational visits to enhance the classroom learning.

Entry requirements

You will need a BTEC Art and Design Level 2 qualification, or four GCSEs Grade C or above.


You will have continuous assessments throughout the year plus your work will be moderated externally.

Future opportunities

After this course you might choose to go to university to study subjects including fashion design, textiles or fashion business. Alternatively you could go on to an apprenticeship or employment in areas including design, fashion buying, dressmaking or fashion journalism.
