Level 3 CACHE Childcare at Cecil Jones College

Course description

You will learn how to value children as individuals, to support a child’s learning through everyday experiences and how to keep children safe. You will also cover topics on healthy eating and encouraging children to be physically active. You will learn about creative activities for children and how language and communication skills develop. You will be working with babies from birth to 12 months.

Entry requirements

Five A*-C including Maths and English


You will be given numerous assignments and have to create a portfolio including promoting healthy eating for children, play and learning in children’s education and caring for children. You will also have work placements at local primary schools, nursery schools, special schools and private day nurseries.

Future opportunities

This course can lead you onto a course in early year’s foundation stage. The course also enables you to be able to become a practitioner, deal with special educational needs and be a nanny or home based child carer.
