Health & Social Care BTEC Level 3 Certificate at Lincoln Castle Academy

Course description

The BTEC Level 3 in Health and Social Care has been developed in the health and social care sector to provide: Education and training for health and social care employees. Opportunities for health and social care employees to achieve a nationally recognised Level 3 vocationally specific qualification. It gives the opportunity for full-time learners to enter employment in the health and social care sector or to progress to vocational qualifications, and to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working life.

This course will help you learn to work independently and carry out research. You will increase your social and communication skills. You will also have opportunity to use caring skills on vocational visits, presentation skills in the classroom and evaluation skills of your own and peer assignments. Health and Social Care can be linked with Psychology, Sociology and Biology. It may also have cross-overs with Sports Studies, Food Technology and History.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade ‘C’ including English Language. Science at ‘C’ grade or ‘Pass’ is also desirable. Previous Health & Social Care experience at Level 2 would be useful, but not essential. Work experience in and Health and Social Care environment would be strongly beneficial.

This course is an industry recognised qualification and designed to prepare students for the world of work in many areas. Nursing, Residential Carers, Nursery Assistants, Child Minders, Dental Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Infant/Junior school Assistants and working with those with additional needs.
