Psychology AS level at The Thomas Aveling School
Students should be interested in the processes, motives, reactions and nature of the human mind and behaviour. The AS course includes units on: Attachment, Short term and Long term Memory, Stress, Conformity and Abnormal Psychology. Incorporated in these sections is Research Methods. Students are required to write an exam on each of these units. The exams will be taken in May
A minimum of 5 GCSE (or equivalent) passes at Grade A* - C, including Maths and Science (higher paper) at Grade B or above.
100% exam. All exams are externally marked by the exam board. AS - Students will be awarded A -E grades A2 - Students will be awarded A*-E grades
A level Psychology is accepted by universities as an excellent foundation for a very wide range of degree courses. It is also an asset to careers in health/welfare, medicine, law, teaching, marketing, human resources, general management, the police and the media.
