Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structures) - Level 3 Diploma at Harrow College

Course description

For learners who want to work as an electrician in the building services industry. This qualification does not make candidates fully qualified electricians but provides underpinning knowlege that will contribute to employment or further training for completion of NVQ.

Course content

Health and safety in Building services Engineering Fundamental Principles and requirements of environmental systems Principles of electrical science Electrical Installations, fault diagnosis and rectification Electrical Installations, Inspection, testing and commissioning Electrical systems design Career awareness in Building services industry.

The course will be taught through a range of varied activities including classroom based theory sessions and skills workshops to develop the necessary installation skills and experience

Entry requirements

Successful completion of a level 2 qualification in electrotechnical services.


Assessment will be through a range of practical assignments and theory based on-line examinations.

Future opportunities

Employment, apprenticships or further study.  The course also covers the underpinning knowledge elements of the NVQ in Electrotechnical services.
