Geography A Level at Rednock School
What will I learn on this A Level course?
- An introduction to the key concepts and core themes of Geography
- An understanding of geographical fieldwork techniques and a range of research methods
- An opportunity to develop your understanding and geographical awareness through discussion of contemporary issues
- You will study topics such as: Globalisation, Crowded Coasts, Rebranding Places, World at Risk, Energy, Water, Superpowers, Biodiversity, Development Gap, Technological Fixes, Cultural Diversity and Life at the Margins.
We strongly recommend that students have at least a ‘B’ grade at GCSE in this subject. A ‘C’ grade would be acceptable in some individual cases where there may be mitigating circumstances but would ideally be supported by a B grade minimum in English at GCSE.
If students were opting for this subject at 6th Form which they had not studied at GCSE then a B grade in another Humanities subject along with a B in English would be desirable.
