Mathematics at The Elizabethan Academy

Course description

Course Content This course is for those students who enjoy Mathematics. As well as building on work from GCSE, new concepts will also be introduced. You will be required to work both independently and in groups at times.

3 Units at 'AS' level, including:

Core 1 builds upon the GCSE content and introduces new concepts, such as calculus.
Core 2 builds on from Core 1 Statistics builds upon the GCSE content and introduces new content such as the normal distribution.

3 Units at 'A2' level, including:
Core 3 introduces functions and trigonometric identities.
Core 4 builds upon the Core 3 content and introduces vectors. Mechanics looks at the mathematics of forces and projectiles.

Entry requirements

You will need at least 5 GCSEs at A* - C (including GCSE Mathematics and/or GCSE English Language). 'AS': At least grade B in GCSE Mathematics 'A2': At least grade D in 'AS' Mathematics
