Football Coaching City and Guilds Diploma Level 2 at Guildford College

Course description

The qualification is designed to provide learners with an introduction to the practical and theoretical aspects of coaching football and leading practical sessions.

This is a unique opportunity to gain a vocational coaching qualification whilst undertaking and gaining valuable employability experience.

This qualification is delivered by UEFA and FA qualified coaches, who have experience and contacts within the industry.

Students have access and use of 3 quality football pitches.

Course content

  • City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 Activity Leadership
  • 1st 4 Sport FA Level 1
  • 1st 4 Sport FA Youth Module 1 (optional)
  • Level 2 Employability Awareness

Entry requirements

You will need GCSEs at grades D to E in at least 3 subjects and a passion for leading sports sessions and football.


All learners will complete an evidence pack, with written, observation and peer assessment. Learners will also be assessed practically on their own delivery.

Future opportunities

You could progress on to the Sport Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma or Football Coaching Level 3.
