ICT (Applied) at St Paul's Catholic College

Course description

There is, and will continue to be, a desperate shortage of IT skills in an ever competitive workplace, which gives those possessing such skills a distinct advantage, and excellent career prospects. All specifications in Applied ICT aim to encourage candidates to develop broad skills, knowledge and understanding of the ICT sector and prepare candidates for further study or training.

Students studying this course develop a broad range of ICT skills and knowledge of the uses of ICT in vocational contexts, as a basis for progression into further learning in ICT related fields. Students will gain a knowledge and understanding of the components, functions and applications of information systems within a range of organisations and the main principles of solving problems using ICT.
