Physics (GCSE) at Graham School Science and Arts College

Course description

Students who do well in the Year 9 Science Key Stage 3 Tests will also be offered the opportunity to study GCSE Biology, Chemistry or Physics. These are taken through additional lessons once a week on different days after school (3:10 – 4:00pm). Students can take any number of these additional GCSE's provided that they achieve Level 6/7 in the KS3 Test in Science. It is possible to gain three additional Science GCSE's (five in total) this way, although most students opt for one.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in Science and specialise further in Physics or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification. With further training, you could go into a job related to Science and Physics such as a Science Teacher, Physician or Engineer. You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
