Drama at Belper School and Sixth Form Centre

Course description

The Drama course is an exciting combination of creative activities. Students will devise drama, realise playtexts and analyse theatre.

This is an internally assessed unit which requires students to explore two contrasting plays practically.

Theatre Text in Performance
This externally assessed unit requires students to take part in a formal production of a published play.  They must also perform a monologue or duologue.

AS Assessment 
Exploration of drama and performance of texts.


Exploration of Dramatic Performance
Students will research, develop and devise a piece of theatre which is internally assessed.  They will also produce a written analysis of the process.

Theatre Text in Context
This externally assessed written paper includes the study and evaluation of a live theatre performance.

A2 Assessment 
Devised performance and study of theatre text and history.
