Business Studies at Beverley Grammar School

Course description

Year 12 - AS Level

* Starting a Business and Financial Planning
* People, Operations Management, Finance, Marketing and Competition

Year 13 - A2 Level

A2 follows the same units as the AS syllabus but in greater depth and focusing on new areas. The core focus of this syllabus is developing strategies for business success.

Both AS and A2 level develop realistic business decision making skills; the emphasis is on being able to think for yourself, rather than simply learning and repeating facts. Students must be prepared to use and develop their independent research skills, ability to work as part of a group, and willingness to ‘read around’ the subject to improve overall business knowledge.

Entry requirements

Students hoping to study AS or A2 level Business Studies must show a genuine interest in the subject and a willingness to investigate new ideas.

It is not essential to have studied the subject at GCSE level, although a grade A-C in Maths and English is recommended.

You can check all entry requirements in the 'Entrance Policy'
