Sociology - A-Level at St Aidan's Catholic Academy
Sociology is the study of how contemporary society operates. It is about the behaviour of people,
their personal identity, their roles and responsibilities within society. It is also about social change,
social issues and institutions.
The course aims to develop understanding of social processes and social change, through
examination of sociological issues, debate, methodology and a range of research methods.
GCSE B grade or above in English.A keen interest in the behaviour of people and contemporary society is essential. No previous knowledge of Sociology is required.
