Children and Young Peoples Workforce Level 2 Apprenticeship at Train2B Limited

Course description

If you would like a career working with children there is no better way to get it started than with an apprenticeship. Unlike childcare courses which are offered at colleges and sixth forms, apprenticeships allow you to work within and be employed by a childcare setting – this also means you will receive a wage for the work you do. Not only does being employed mean a wage it also means you will be truly looked at as one of the team, this allows you to get fully involved with all aspects of delivering childcare – something students from colleges and sixth forms are not able to do.

Apprenticeships are designed to be work based learning, this means less time in a classroom and more time undertaking practical training on the job, learning from the qualified staff within your workplace. Many people learn best through practical experience and find the amount of traditional ‘written work’ in an apprenticeship much easier to manage than a full time study course.

Childcare apprenticeships are available at both Levels 2 and 3, Level 2 is the course for all learners new to childcare, who would like to gain the foundation knowledge required to become a childcare practitioner. When undertaking the Level 2 you will be working towards the Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young Peoples Workforce, once obtained you will be considered fully qualified at Level 2. The Level 2 course looks at a number of different areas including Safeguarding, Child Development, Nutrition, Health & Safety, Communication, Equality & Diversity and Personal Development.

Apprenticeships with Train2B are entirely tailored to the learners individual needs, every learner will have an allocated Assessor who is their point of contact and support throughout their course. Most learners attend the Train2B Training Room once every 4 weeks where they can complete work, discuss their work with their Assessor and also meet other Apprentices to share knowledge, experiences and ideas. Assessors will also regularly attend your workplace to observe you in practice and also to review your progress with your setting mentor. The frequency of visits and meetings between learner and assessor is flexible and will be adjusted based on the learners needs.
