WJEC A/As level Computing

        

Computing with all its associated links far reaching into everyday society should be considered as an essential study for life success in the 21st Century.

Course content

The two major themes in the course involve learning the theory behind Computing and how to program in VB.Net

Entry requirements

Pupils normally need to achieve either grades A*, A, B, C in ICT.

Assessment

In the first year of the course you will sit an externally marked 3hr theory paper for the module CG1 worth 67% and also prepare a VB.net solution to an Exam board assignment worth 33% for the module CG2.


In the second year you will sit an externally marked 3hr theory paper for the module CG3 worth 67% and also prepare a VB.net solution for a problem of your own choice worth 33% for the module CG4

Future opportunities

As well as pursuing a higher education course in the many Computing areas viz; Computer software engineering, Networking, web development etc, a qualification in this course bodes well for many of the other higher education subjects you may wish to study.
