French at Willenhall E-ACT Academy

Course description

The GCSE course in French develops language skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening, building on what has been learnt at KS3. The topics covered include school, leisure, holidays and healthy living. Examinations are held in May and June of Year 11. The assessments comprise: Listening: A range of multiple choice questions on pre-recorded materials (20% of marks). Reading: A range of questions based on written materials (20% of marks). Speaking: A controlled assessment of 4 to 6 minutes assessed by your teachers (30% of marks). Writing: Two coursework tasks (30% of marks).
