Further Mathematics A2 at Warlingham School
Further Pure 2: Proof by induction, hyberbolic functions, arc length, revolutions about the x axis. Decision Mathematics 2: Critical path analysis, dynamic programming and game theory. Statistics 2: Estimation, hypothesis testing and the Poisson distributions or Mechanics 3: Relative motion, dimensional analysis, collisions and projectiles on inclined planes. Assessment Format Each module is assessed by a terminal examination. The choice of modules may vary. A scientific calculator and graphics calculator will be required.
You could take this course with an Advanced GCE in Mathematics to support entry to higher education in areas Mathematics, related areas such as Electronics, Economics, Physics or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to Mathematics such as an Accountant, Engineer or Financial Adviser. The course also helps you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for, especially in the economic and engineering sectors.
