Fitness Instruction Advanced Apprenticeship at Derby College

Course description

The Apprenticeship in Fitness Instruction (Level 3) is designed for people who already work in the health and fitness industry and who wish to continue their professional development. It is also ideal for those who wish to enter the sector in a supervisory or managerial role.

Course content

The framework will be focussed on delivering and managing exercise and fitness instruction in a sports and active leisure setting.

Entry requirements

Your apprenticeship framework will be designed around your prior achievements and working requirements. Your standards of English and maths should be suitable for study at this level. Good communication skills are essential.

Assessment

Assessments will take place through vocational competence, the development of a portfolio of evidence and assessment for the technical qualifications associated with the pathway. English and maths will be assessed through a controlled assessment or exam.

Future opportunities

You can advance your career within the active leisure industry as a gym instructor, team leader or health club manager.
