Travel and Tourism Extended Diploma Level 3 at Gloucestershire College

Course description

This course gives you the opportunity to learn about the travel and tourism industry in far greater detail and achieve a professional level of knowledge that will make you industry ready.

You will study:

  • Travel and Tourism: home and abroad
  • Customer service and Marketing
  • Entertainment for holidaymakers
  • Special interest tourism.

Course content

This is an in-depth course which is equivalent to studying A-levels.

There are four core units which include

  • Investigating Travel and Tourism
  • Business of Travel and Tourism
  • UK as a Destination
  • Customer Service in Travel and Tourism.

There are also additional units that include

  • Roles and Responsibilities of Holiday Reps
  • Entertainment for Holidaymakers
  • Long haul Travel Destinations as well as gaining work experience.

Learners participate in a range of enrichment activities including airline cabin crew training with JARE training, visits to tourist attractions, and experiences of the travel and tourism industry.

Entry requirements

You need to have successfully completed 4-5 GCSEs at grade A*- C including English and Maths. Selection is based on a successful interview and positive reference.

Future opportunities

Upon completion, you may seek employment within the industry.
