Sport BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma at Churchill Academy and Sixth Form

Course description

The Pearson BTEC National Foundation Diploma in Sport is intended to be an Applied General qualification for post-16 students wanting to continue their education through applied learning and who aim to progress to higher education and ultimately to employment, probably in the sport sector.

Course content

Topics/areas covered: The qualification provides the knowledge, understanding and skills that allow learners to gain experience of the sport sector that will prepare them for further study or training.

Learners will study four out of the seven units

  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Fitness Training and Programming for Health, Sport and Well-being
  • Professional Development in the Sports Industry
  • Sports Leadership
  • Application of Fitness Testing
  • Sports Psychology
  • Practical Sports Performance

Entry requirements

5 A* - C at GCSE
