Course description

History is the subject for you if you enjoy a good argument, are interested in analysing people, and understand the complexity of past events. The specification includes Elizabethan England, Civil Rights in America and the Holocaust. If you want to learn to think logically and gain knowledge of new topics then History is the subject for you!

Understanding various aspects and periods of History is both challenging and rewarding. History provides students with the opportunity to develop a variety of skills including questioning, written communication and analysis. These different skills can be applied in a variety of careers such as law, the media, police work, museum and archive offices, and other related areas. History is a stepping-stone to a wide number of careers where intellectual skills are needed.

Entry requirements

The ideal History student is someone who has achieved grade C in History at GCSE and is prepared to work hard to develop their skills base.
