Spanish A Level at The Priory School
Students have the opportunity to extend their knowledge of Spanish through the study of cultural, historical, socio-political topics amongst others. Our team of teachers are comprised of experienced and dedicated practitioners, some being native speakers.
Students will study technological and social change. They will study highlights of Hispanic artistic culture, including a focus on Spanish regional identity and the cultural heritage of past civilisations.
Students will explore the influence of the past on present-day Spanish-speaking communities.
Throughout their studies, they will learn the language in the context of Spanish-speaking countries and the issues and influences which have shaped them. Students will study a text or a film.
Assessment tasks will be varied and cover listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

Artistic culture / Artistic culture in the Hispanic world

• Spanish regional identity (La identidad regional en España)
• Cultural heritage or cultural landscape (El patrimonio cultural)

Degree courses in Spanish or Spanish with Business Studies, Travel and Tourism, Law, Management Studies, Spanish with European Studies and many, many others.
An A Level in Spanish can lead to a career in the following areas: Travel and Tourism, Secretarial Work, Translation and Interpreting, Journalism, Technical and Scientific Work and Teaching.
