Hair and Beauty Entry Level at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai

Course description

Are you hoping to start a career in hairdressing or beauty therapy?

This course gives you an introduction to hair and beauty, preparing you to work in a hair or beauty salon, spa or other environment.

The course provides valuable training for employment and further study, giving you a broad understanding of the industry and its techniques. It is suitable for students progressing from GCSEs or an equivalent background.

Course content

The programme will be delivered through a blend of the following:

  • Practical Delivery
  • Theory Sessions
  • Commercial Salon Training

You will also undertake work experience as part of the programme.

You will study a variety of subject-specific modules, in addition to Literacy and Numeracy skills.

You will also study additional relevant qualifications, which may include the Welsh Baccalaureate. These will be explained to you at interview, or contact Learner Services for more information.

Entry requirements

  • You will need to have experience within the public sector, pass an interview and have satisfactory references.
  • Personal qualities to include enthusiasm, dexterity and a friendly nature. 
  • This course will suit those looking to undertake an apprenticeship

Assessment

The course is assessed through a blend of the following:

  • Observation
  • Practical assessments
  • Written and Oral Tests
