Caring for Children at Boston College

Course description

This course is designed for people who have an interest in the development of babies and young children. This course will help you to develop your skills and understanding of working with babies and young children in the early year's sector.

Course content

Within the course you will explore a range of units which explore: 

- Working with children 
- Children and play 
- Communication and professional skills 
- Introduction to children's learning 
- Safe, healthy and nurturing environments for children 
- The developing child 
- The practitioner in the workplace 
- Supporting children with additional needs 

You will also develop your English and Maths skills, as well as undertaking 30 hours of work experience and have 1-1 time with your tutor and group tutorials.

Entry requirements

GCSEs at grades F or above (New GCSE grade - 2 or above) or equivalent and/or appropriate work experience. Alternative grades and qualifications can be discussed during your interview.
