Art & Design BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at Marine Academy

Course description

This Art and Design BTEC Subsidiary Diploma Level 3 is the first year of an 18 unit (180 credits) course studied over two years, just like an A level programme and is equivalent to 3 A levels.

If you want to develop your potential for creative work in the Art and Design industry then this course will give you the opportunity to explore a range of materials, media and technical skills associated with Art and Design in general and specialist areas such as, digital art, printing, ceramics, graphics etc.

Year one of the Subsidiary Diploma consists of a 90 credit programme. After year one most students will enrol onto year 2 and complete a full BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma, ensuring progression to university level courses, higher apprenticeships or employment. Students who leave after successfully completing the first year with a BTEC 60 Credit Diploma (equivalent to one A level) can use this qualification to support progression into employment or further training.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade A* - C including at least a Pass in this subject at Key Stage 4
