Business Studies A Level at Hendon School

Course description

The aim of the course is to enable students to gain an understanding of how businesses run, how decisions are made within them, how external factors affect them and how to make decisions for them.

Skills / Aptitudes required to be successful in this course:

Individuals who have a genuine interest in the business world and current affairs would be suitable for this course. The ability to apply problem solving and decision making skills within the business context would form the basis for success in studying Business.

Assessment

The A level consists of 4 themes assessed by written examination. The papers include a combination of short answer, data response and extended open response questions.

Theme 1: Marketing and people

Theme 2: Managing business activities

Theme 3: Business decisions and strategy

Theme 4: Global business

Future opportunities

Most students progress to University to study a wide range of subjects including Accounting and Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Management, International Business and Business Studies.

Business students pursue careers as Accountants, Bankers, Managers, Insurance Underwriters, Management Consultants, Marketing Executives, Market Research Executives, Human Resources Managers, and Sales Executives.
