Physics AS & A Level at Beauchamps High School

Course description

Physics provides a broad training in skills that are valued by all employers; an ability to grasp concepts quickly, a determination to find coherent answers, along with problem-solving, analytical, mathematical and IT skills.

From the Big Bang to quarks, with A Level Physics you will learn how the Universe works and begin to understand the mysteries it presents.

Entry requirements

Grade B or above in GCSE Physics or 2 A/A* in GCSE Double Science and Grade 5 or above in Mathematics.

Completing A Level Mathematics and A Level Further Mathematics would enhance understanding of the subjects as there are many cross over topics.

Assessment

The assessment of A Level Physics is now based solely on exam performance.

100% of the overall A Level grade comes from external examinations which will take place at the end of a two year course of study.
