Travel, Tourism and Events Level 2 First Diploma at Weymouth College

Course description

Employers are constantly looking for highly motivated and well-qualified people to work in this exciting and demanding industry. This course is highly relevant and current, and will provide you with the required skills to gain employment in the world of travel. You will take part in residential visits in the UK and you will be taught by enthusiastic and knowledgeable lecturers.

Course content

Units include: • Worldwide travel and tourism destinations • Selling skills • Tourist information • Cruise • Retail travel services • Interpersonal skills • Customer service • Resort representatives • Educational visits - You will be encouraged to familiarise yourself with the industry, either by visits, speakers, trade fairs or exhibitions in the UK.

Entry requirements

You should have at least 4 GCSEs at minimum grade D including English and maths

Assessment

You will undertake assessments throughout the year to support your coursework. In addition, each unit has either a final external or internal assessment. Full attendance is therefore absolutely critical in order to achieve this qualification.

Future opportunities

This course has a natural progression to higher level qualifications or you may go direct into employment. Note: that some careers have a minimum age for entry.
