- Essential training to become a fully qualified apprentice
The IMI awards offer progression for students following a City and Guilds foundation year or those who have completed GCSEs. The course offers a mixture of theory and practical teaching aimed at developing the skills necessary for the motor vehicle industry.
Normally students who are 16 -19 years of age require no formal qualifications but evidence of practical ability and enthusiasm for the motor vehicle industry is essential. All students will be interviewed and undergo an entry test.
The course is continuously assessed via a combination of written assignments and practical skills based tests.
Successful completion of the IMI level 1 award could lead to a level 2 technical certificate and/or a full apprenticeship.
