Course content

The IMI awards offer progression for students following a City and Guilds foundation year or those who have completed GCSEs. The course offers a mixture of theory and practical teaching aimed at developing the skills necessary for the motor vehicle industry.

Entry requirements

Normally students who are 16 -19 years of age require no formal qualifications but evidence of practical ability and enthusiasm for the motor vehicle industry is essential. All students will be interviewed and undergo an entry test.

Assessment

The course is continuously assessed via a combination of written assignments and practical skills based tests.

Future opportunities

Successful completion of the IMI level 1 award could lead to a level 2 technical certificate and/or a full apprenticeship.

    • Pibwrlwyd is a friendly campus in a rural setting on the outskirts of the market town of Carmarthen which is also the commercial centre for a large and thriving area.
