Business Studies (BTEC Extended Certificate Single Award) at Roundhay School All through education from 4 to 18

Course description

The Extended Certificate is for learners who are interested in learning about the business sector alongside other fields of study, with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses, not necessarily in business-related subjects. It is designed to be taken as part of a programme of study that includes other appropriate BTEC Nationals or A Levels.

 

 

Course content

4 units covered over two years. 3 mandatory units and 1 optional unit.

  2. Developing a Marketing Campaign
  3. Personal and Business Finance
  4. Work Experience in Business

General Entry Requirements

Assessment

Assessment is specifically designed to fit the purpose and objective of the qualification. It includes a range of assessment types and styles suited to vocational qualifications. There are three main forms of assessment that you need to be aware of: external, internal and synoptic.

You may chose to study at university level in related areas. An alternative would be to go straight into work in a business or related field.
