Children's Care, Learning and Development BTEC First Diploma at Carshalton College

Course description

Training for those who wish to work with children. Part of your course will be at College and the remainder at training placements.

  • Preparing and Maintaining Environments for Childcare
  • Professional Development, Roles & Responsibilities in Childcare
  • Supporting Children's Play and Learning.

Entry requirements

An average of grade D for three or more GCSEs including English or you will have successfully completed a Level 1, achieving at least a Merit and Functional Skills at least at Level 1 for English.

You will need to demonstrate your commitment at interview. Students not meeting entry requirements will be asked to show their abilities.

Future opportunities

BTEC National Subsidiary Certificate or National Diploma in Children's Play, Learning and Development, BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care. Supervised employment or Apprenticeship.
