This is a full-time course which covers the use of plastering tools; solid plastering ie, the mixing and applying of plastering materials; rendering, skimming; screeding and decorative plasterwork. It is designed to prepare learners to enter the construction industry.
There are no formal entry requiements for this qualification but individuals must have the potential to successfully gain the qualification. Numeracy and literacy skills at level one would be an advantage and an interest in construction is essential. You will be asked to carry out a skills assessment to determine the support you require to be successful on your course.
The qualification comprises: mandatory units; optional units - synoptic practical assignments; questions to test knowledge.
The qualification will enhance the student's career prospects to gain employment within a Foundation Modern Apprenticeship or progress on to Plastering Diploma (level 1).
