Pre-Access Course at East Kent College

Course description

An intensive Level 2 Study Programme, this qualification can lead to a Level 3 qualification or Access to Higher Education for students.

Course content

This Study Programme is designed specifically for mature students who are returning to education after a period of time and are planning to progress onto the full-time Access to Higher Education course, or as preparation for any number of further education courses.

You will gain the necessary skills to further your studies including: English Language; Maths / Statistics, I.C.T, Research Skills, Time Management and Presentations.

Entry requirements

The Progression Award/Pre-Access programme does not require any formal entry requirements; however, applicants will be assessed at interview for literacy and numeracy skills.

Assessment

You will be assessed using a coursework portfolio of six units, which are built up as the course progresses.

If you are aged 24 and over an Advanced Learning loan may be available if you are studying at Level 3 and above.
