Apprenticeship: Hairdressing at Heart of England Training Ltd (HOET)

Course description

Hairdressing Apprenticeships are the nationally recognised route to becoming a qualified hairdresser. You will be learning on the job, working in a local salon whilst training with Heart of England Training one day per week at one of our training centres. In some cases training can be offered 100% in the workplace. You'll learn - - Cutting - Shampooing - Styling - Colouring - Reception - Perming

Course content

You will complete the NVA in Haidressing and complete units in colouring, styling and keeping care of your customers hair.

There are no entry requirements for this apprenticeship.


You will be assessed through observations, usimg models and pictures taken of your work.

Future opportunities

There are over 180000 hairdressing salons in the UK and this is growing all the time! There are many opportunities for qualified hairdressers including working as a stylist, owning your own salon, working on film sets or even teaching others! The course offers you a specialist work-based qualification to support a career in hairdressing or to progress onto studying for an NVQ level 3 in Hairdressing or a related subject such as an NVQ in Beauty or Business and Administration. With further training and experience, you could go onto working as a senior hair stylist or with the relevant business knowledge you could also set up your own hairdressing salon. The course is work based which means you can earn and learn at the same time whilst developing the skills, understanding and knowledge that employers in the hair and beauty industries are looking for. You will be supported in progressing to an Advanced Apprenticeship. You will be supported in progressing to an Advanced Apprenticeship.
