GCSE Design and Technology: Graphic Products at Chase Terrace Technology College
The key to choosing the D&T subject that suits you best is as follows: Graphics - an ability to draw, both freehand and at times with instruments is pretty important. An interest in areas of Graphic Design, such as packaging, corporate identity, advertising and publishing is also central to the course. You will also develop your skills in the use of software like Photoshop and Publisher. Commercial printing methods, materials and other industrial practices are taught through this course.
You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in Design and Technology or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification. With further training, you could go into a job related to Design and Technology and Electronics such as an Technician, Electrician or Design Engineer. You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
