Performing Arts - Level 2 BTEC Diploma at Yorkshire Coast College
The BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Performing Arts is ideal if you would like to gain the basic skills needed to progress into a career in the industry.
The course will provide you with all the knowledge and skills you need to enable you to progress on to a higher level of study in the performing arts.
This programme will provide you with an ideal introduction to a whole range of styles and disciplines, including acting, dance and musical theatre.
The course will include the following units:
- Musical theatre
- Performing arts business
- Dance performance
- Performing scripted plays
- Acting skills
For the Level 2 - Applicants should be at least 16 years of age and should have a strong interest in drama. Students must have four GCSEs at grade D and above or equivalent.
After successfully completing the Level 2 Diploma in Performing Arts you will have the skills and confidence to progress onto either the Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts or Higher Education.
We've seen some learners go on to set up their own touring theatre and dance companies, so not only do they get to travel all over the country, but they have full-time careers doing something they love, that makes us incredibly proud. Other success stories
have seen our learners go on to have careers in the West End performing in hit musicals like Mamma Mia and Cats.
The local average wage on entry to a career in the Performing Arts – depending on qualification – is £13,000.
