Biology AS/A2 Level at Cardinal Newman Catholic School A Specialist Science College

Course description

Studying biology allows students to develop and further the skills and knowledge from GCSE Science. You will be able to use Computing Skills to reinforce learning. During the course students will learn how and why the body works in the way it does.

The stories of scientific advancement currently talked about in the news is explored, leading to thought provoking and interesting discussions. Students will use a whole range of transferable skills that will be used in further education or in a place of work.

Entry requirements

5 GCSE’s grades A – C, including B in Maths, C grades in English & BB Science ALL EXTERNAL STUDENTS MUST BE SENT TO MISS DALY.

Assessment

AS:

1 x 60 minute exam

1 x 105 minute exam

3 x controlled Assessments

 

A2:

1 x 75 minute exam

1 x 120 minute exam

3 x controlled Assessments
