Art & Design BTEC Level 3 Foundation Diploma at Havering College of Further and Higher Education
You will develop both your critical and practical skills in art & design whilst you build a varied portfolio of work that demonstrates experimentation and creative thinking.
Investigating a range of art & design disciplines, you will study the various techniques involved within them. We encourage experimentation with as many of these techniques as possible.
To that end, a majority of the assignments can be interpreted in many ways and you are free to explore them using a variety of different methods, including:
- 3D Design
- Fashion / Textile Design
- Graphic Design
- Interior Design
- Life Drawing
Towards the end of the course you will undertake a final major project that will serve as a demonstration of your abilities and a reflection of your specific style.
If you have not yet achieved a grade C (or above) in GCSE English and maths, you will be required to attend GCSE resit sessions (if you achieved grade D) or functional skills sessions (if you achieved grade E or below).
- At least 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above (including English and maths)
- National diploma (or equivalent) in an appropriate subject
- Portfolio of your work
You will be assessed via written and practical assignments.
You could progress onto a BA (Hons) degree in your chosen subject.
Employment opportunities could involve work as a designer, photographer, artist etc.
