Science (Applied) BTEC Level 3 at DSLV E-ACT Academy

Course description

BTEC applied science is a vocationally focused course that allows students to develop their understanding of applied science to an A level standard. The course is equivalent to 1 full A level and has the same weighting in UCAS points. The course follows a practically focused pathway and gives students the opportunity to explore a range of different aspects of science. The course modules are drawn from diverse areas of biology, chemistry and physics. In the first year you will cover the mandatory modules ‘Fundamentals of Science’, ‘Working in the Science Industry’ and ‘Scientific Practical Techniques’. Each unit is worth 10 credits and will be assessed through a combination of essays and group work. In the second year students will take at least 3 additional units selected from the list below. Students must complete a minimum of 60 credits worth on guided learning. At the end of the course students will achieve a Merit, Distinction or Distinction *
