CACHE Level 2 in Understanding the Safe Handling of Medication at Calderdale College

Course description

This qualification provides the knowledge and understanding of different types of medication and their use. The procedures for obtaining, storing, administering and disposing of medication. It will also help develop your knowledge of legislation and record keeping.

Course content

This course will interest you if you're planning to work in a medical laboratory or pharmacy.

Entry requirements

Learners must be 16 years and above, school leavers will need a GCSE grade D in English or a Level 1 Functional/Key Skills English qualification. Learners will also need to provide 2 references and complete a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

Assessment

The course is assessed by your tutor/assessor using a portfolio of evidence, practical demonstration and assignments.

Financial information

In most cases students aged 18 and under who wish to enrol on a full time further education course will have their fees waived.  Students who are aged 19 and over and who wish to enrol on a full time course should contact our Student Services Team on 01422-399367 for more information.

Future opportunities

Successful candidates can progress onto various courses such as Level 2 and 3 Clinical Healthcare Support, Level 2 and 3 Certificates in Health and Social Care and Apprenticeships in Health and Social Care.
