Unit 1 – PROD1 – Materials, Components and Application This unit content covers 3 sections 1. Section A Materials and Components (Candidates develop an understanding of the physical and mechanical properties of a wide range of materials and components.) 2. Section B Design and Market Influences (This enables candidates to understand the wider issues for designers such as environmental impact and sustainability) Process and Manufacture (Candidates develop their understanding of how materials can be manipulated to manufacture well designed products through practical experience) 50% 0f AS and 25% of A Level 2 Hours exam

Unit 2 - PROD2 - Learning through Designing and Making 50% of AS and 25% of A Level Primarily coursework which consists of approx 50 hours work in the form of a portfolio and a manufactured outcome

Entry requirements

In order to access this course students must have achieved a minimum of A* - C in 5 different subjects including English and Maths at GCSE Level.
