Drama and Theatre Studies AS and A2 Level at Rye Studio School

Course description

The course will help you develop your performance and textual analysis skills.

At AS level, you will study a set play and respond to live theatre seen during the course. You will also perform an extract from a published play.

At A2 level, you will study two further set plays and perform a group devised drama.

During the course, you will have the opportunity to go on a number of theatre trips and to participate in workshops and master classes with professional actors and theatre companies, as well as with visiting directors.

You will be assessed through a mixture of exams and coursework.

Entry requirements

In addition to the A level pathway requirement of 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths, you will need grade A*-B in GCSE English or Drama. You will be invited to a Drama workshop, which will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your performance skills.
