Further Mathematics A Level at Verulam School

Course description

The course aims to give the student grounding in both Pure and Applied Mathematics. This will involve learning new techniques and methods and then using these as tools with which to model events in the real world.


Course Content

  • A Level Mathematics - 6 modules need to be studied (C1, C2, C3, C4 and two applied)
  • A Level Further Mathematics - 6 further modules in addition to the 6 taken at A Level. The applied modules available are in Mechanics, Statistics and Decision Mathematics.

​For those students going on to Higher Education, Mathematics forms an essential part of any course in Engineering, Physical Science, Technological Studies ,Economics and computing and accounting courses. It is highly desirable for degree courses such as Chemistry, Medicine, Architecture and Psychology.

A at GCSE Mathematics.
