All the Childcare staff at the College have worked in various aspects of childcare so we have first-hand experience of the job role. We are a supportive and approachable team who want you to succeed and have the best experience of College life. Our Apprenticeship groups are small, which helps in building close relationships with your peers and fosters a ‘working together’ approach.
At Buxton Campus we have a skills suite where you can practice your practical skills in readiness for the workplace. We also have the latest classroom technology to support your learning and you will have access to all the facilities and services of the university campus.
The majority of our Apprentice students are now working in childcare setting in the area.
You will need to have a contract of employment in a childcare setting.
It is preferred that you have achieved Maths, English and ITC at GCSE C grade or above before you start the course or have achieved a D grade in these subjects so you can upskill to a C grade during the course.
You will need to provide the name of at least one person to give you a character reference and evidence of a satisfactory DBS check.
