Course description

Would you like to set up your own business or be a successful entrepreneur? Would you like to work for a large business? Have you got an interest in the news and how the Government and their policies affect your life? Studying business as part of your study programme you will develop practical skills and theoretical understanding of the world of business. The Subsidiary Diploma gives an excellent insight into the world of business and can supplement other courses that will prepare you for further studies in business or to start your career.All students are expected to be full-time students.

Course content

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above including English Language and Maths. There are no specific entry criteria for studying Business.

Assessment

You will be taught in a theoretical and practical setting and assessed via 100% coursework set in a variety of ways including presentations, role plays and time-limited exercises.

Future opportunities

This course is all about preparing you for employment or entry to university. Future careers include accounting, banking, insurance, human resources, marketing and sales. You could take all the skills and knowledge you have acquired in your studies to set up your own company and become an entrepreneur.

Further information

Opportunities lie to support the Academy with general administration roles, human resources projects, and supporting departments with specific plans and activities to increase productivity and recruitment. OPA has its own Café which is operated by students from OPA6 who are encouraged to participate in the workforce to apply their newfound skills to a real life scenario.
