Light Maintenance & Repair Principles IMIAL Level 2 Subsidiary Diploma at Swindon College

Course description

This course is designed for people who would like to gain employment in the Automotive industry and combines both practical training along with mechanical theory. The practical work is carried out in our own training workshops to the necessary industry standards.

During your course of study, you will be involved in demonstrations, practical work, theory lessons, computer sessions, tutorials, project work and work experience. The course will stretch and challenge learning as all learners have the opportunity to complete additional units to gain a full diploma.

Entry requirements

Successful completion of Motor Vehicle Progression Diploma Level 1 or four GCSEs at grade C or above including maths, English and Science with a good understanding of motor vehicle technology.

Future opportunities

If you successfully pass the course, along with the additional units for the full diploma, this will provide you with the opportunity for progression onto the Full Vehicle Maintenance Diploma at Level 2 and then Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Diploma Level 3. This is dependent on the grades you achieve during the course, your attendance and general attitude towards learning, as well as your ability to cope with more complex systems. This will be assessed by all staff teaching on the course as well as your tutor.
