*Functional skills qualifications are designed to provide the necessary levels of English, Maths and ICT skills needed to ‘function’ in today’s society and workplace. They are a key component of all College Programmes. If you do not have a grade C or above for maths it is compulsory for you to complete functional skills/GCSE maths as part of the study programme.
A minimum of 12 points including 4 GCSEs at grade C or above to include GCSE English. Equivalent qualifications in a relevant discipline will be accepted with GCSE English at grade C or above or equivalent.
To progress to Year 2 you will be expected to achieve the UAL Level 3 Diploma in Year 1.
Applicants will be required to bring a portfolio of Art & Design work to the interview.
Mature candidates will be considered on an individual basis.
You are continually assessed throughout the course through set project work. Functional Skills are assessed by on-line exams and you will be given guidance and support to achieve these.
After successful completion of this course you can enter employment or progress onto a range of Higher Education opportunities.
The UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma is currently worth 420 UCAS points. Progression opportunities include:

- BA (Hons) Fashion related degree courses
- An Apprenticeship
- Junior positions within the fashion industry.
