Physics at St Julie's Catholic High School

Course description

From fundamental physics principles through to the development of modern technology, physics plays a huge part in everyone's life.

The new AQA GCE Physics specifications enhance the teaching of these principles by highlighting realworld applications. The content of the specification is underpinned by recognition of How Science Works, to show how physics affects modern life.

A level Physics is intellectually demanding but therein lies its attraction for many students.

For a student who has an interest in the workings of nature and wants to know more about the laws that govern our
world and Universe, Physics is the subject which will appeal.

The subject covers a broad canvas, on the one hand, prying into the world of the miniscule domain of the not yet fully understood atomic nucleus, and on the other hand striving to understand the laws that rule the vastness of the universe and its galaxies, even to knowing how the cosmos began.

While an A level Physics course will not answer these questions immediately it will lead you towards the answers and prepare you for more exciting study at university.
